VoM Exclusive: Risking World War III for Zelensky Is Reckless: Faisal Muhammed
Europe’s Strategic Autonomy Amid Rising Tensions
International Mediator Faisal Muhammed has cautioned against escalating global conflict solely on the basis of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s ambitions. Speaking to VoM News from Brussels, he acknowledged that the EU’s decision to bolster its defenses and allocate €30.6 billion for Ukraine’s reconstruction in 2025 is both timely and justified.
However, he stressed that the five-point agreement reaffirming that no decisions should be made about Ukraine without Ukraine’s involvement is a fair diplomatic stance. Yet, he warned that an immediate military confrontation with Russia driven by emotional and reactionary policies could have disastrous consequences.

A Frivolous Gamble on Global Stability
Faisal Muhammed argued that while Moscow has shown no intent to engage NATO or other European nations, French President Emmanuel Macron’s aggressive rhetoric is fueling unnecessary tensions.
He expressed concerns that such hasty moves could destabilize both Europe and the transatlantic alliance. Responding to a question on Zelensky’s leadership, he described the Ukrainian leader as a compromised figure whose decisions should not dictate the course of global security. “It would be sheer folly,” Faisal remarked, “to risk plunging the world into World War III based on Zelensky’s trust or personal ambitions.”
