PULWAMA, August 08: In honor of Vigilance Awareness Week, a significant awareness program took place today at Town Hall Pulwama.
The event was led by ADC Pulwama, Zaffar Ahmad Shawl, who underscored the community and authorities’ joint efforts to create a corruption-free society. Shawl emphasized the critical role of awareness in nurturing a culture of integrity.
Vigilance Awareness Week, running from August 5 to August 10, 2024, across Jammu and Kashmir, focuses on enhancing integrity and transparency within governance.
Speaking at the event, ADC Shawl discussed vigilance’s importance in public administration and outlined corruption’s detrimental effects on society and the economy. He also reviewed the existing legal frameworks and mechanisms designed to combat corruption.
Dr. Ashok Sharma, SP of ACB South Kashmir, highlighted the necessity of community participation in vigilance activities and urged the public to report corruption through proper channels.
The event featured discussions on leveraging technology to prevent corruption and shared best practices for promoting ethical behavior across various sectors.
The program, which celebrated the Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption, attracted numerous stakeholders, including Chief Prosecutor Officer Farooq Ahmad and various district officers.
It concluded with the administration and attendees taking the Integrity Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to ethical standards and a corruption-free environment.
Vigilance Awareness Week serves as a crucial reminder of the collective responsibility to combat corruption and uphold the highest standards of integrity.
