CropLife International elects Corteva CEO Chuck Magro as new Chairman of the Board
Brussels, 10 November 2025: CropLife International is pleased to announce Chuck Magro, CEO of Corteva, as incoming Chair of the Board of Directors. He succeeds outgoing Chairman Livio Tedeschi, President of BASF Agricultural Solutions, as the two-year tenure rotates, and will assume his role effective 1 January 2026.
Magro takes up the Chairmanship with a proven track record in agriculture industry leadership. At the helm of the Board, he will support CropLife International in championing the pivotal role innovative agricultural technologies play in global food security, enabling farmers to sustainably increase yields while managing the critical challenges presented by changing weather and increasing pest and disease pressures.
Commenting on his appointment, Magro said, “Today’s farmers face an urgent task – to meet the world’s growing demand for food and energy while grappling with increasing challenges, from natural disasters to pests. The best answer to each of these challenges is innovation, along with science-based, predictable policies that allow that innovation to quickly get into the hands of farmers around the world. CropLife International has an important role to play in advocating for the policies that support the world’s farmers, and I look forward to working with the members to advance this vision.”
Congratulating Magro on his appointment, Emily Rees, CropLife International’s President and CEO, said, “I look forward to working closely with Chuck and the Board of Directors to ensure we deliver on our ambitions of feeding a growing population while tackling climate change and protecting our natural resources.
With Chuck’s strong leadership and expertise, I’m confident we can continue to reduce barriers to innovation and chart a path toward greater sustainability in agriculture.”
Magro succeeds Livio Tedeschi, President of BASF Agricultural Solutions whose two-year tenure ends December 31. “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Livio for his vision, his support and guidance as we championed innovative solutions for sustainable productivity,” Emily added. “With his leadership, CropLife International has grown a meaningful collaborative role in international fora, accelerating the centrality of agriculture in the global policies of the future.”
Livio Tedeschi said, “It has been my honor to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CropLife International, and a privilege to represent this sector in the role. My congratulations go to Chuck on his appointment. Along with my fellow Directors of the Board, I look forward to supporting him as he takes up the mantle.”
