US-India Business Council Promotes Bilateral Ties at Vibrant Gujarat Summit
Ed Knight, Global Board Chair of the US-India Business Council (USIBC) and Executive Vice Chairman of Nasdaq, led an executive delegation to the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar. USIBC organized a country seminar focused on enhancing trade and investment between the United States and India. Keynote speakers at the seminar included US Consul General in Mumbai Mike Hankey and Ed Knight.
The seminar concluded with a panel discussion titled “Shaping the Future: The Evolving India-U.S. Bilateral Relationship,” featuring executives from Adani Green Energy Limited, Micron India, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, and Tech Mahindra. The discussion explored ways to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
USIBC President Atul Keshap highlighted India’s skilled talent pool and entrepreneurial culture, positioning it as an ideal collaborator for US businesses. Gujarat’s proactive measures to improve the business climate were acknowledged, contributing significantly to India’s GDP and standing as a preferred investment destination.
During his visit, Ed Knight met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss policy reforms promoting financial inclusion. The discussions included a roundtable focused on growing India’s FinTech ecosystem, involving nine USIBC member companies. Knight participated in the Global Fintech Leadership Forum, discussing USIBC’s role in bilateral trade, Nasdaq’s contribution to GIFT City, and policy priorities for advancing shared goals.
The Vibrant Gujarat Summit, celebrating “20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success,” witnessed significant American participation, reflecting the expanding US-India trade relationship, which has exceeded 191 billion USD over the last decade. Consul General Mike Hankey emphasized the diverse American participation, spanning companies, universities, and enterprises of varying sizes, highlighting the significant opportunities and shared values between the two nations.
