In a decisive move to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, the District Election Officer of Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, JKAS, has suspended two officials for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

The suspensions come in response to reports of government employees being involved in election campaigning, a direct breach of the MCC guidelines.

The individuals involved are Sh. Vikram Singh, a Lambardar from Panjdhara, Loharna, and Mr. Adil Irshad, a Groundsman at the ZEPO Office in Paddar. Their actions were found to be in clear violation of the MCC, prompting the District Election Officer to take stringent measures against them.

Pending further investigation, both Sh. Vikram Singh and Mr. Adil Irshad have been suspended from their duties with immediate effect. The Tehsildar Dachhan has been instructed to conduct a discreet inquiry into the case of Sh. Vikram Singh.

Concurrently, the District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) of Kishtwar will lead an investigation into Mr. Adil Irshad’s conduct. Both officers have been given a strict deadline of seven days to submit detailed reports on their findings.

In addition to their suspension, specific instructions have been issued to ensure that the suspended officials do not interfere with the ongoing election process.

The Tehsildar has been directed to ensure that Sh. Vikram Singh refrains from visiting the concerned area until the election concludes.Meanwhile, Mr. Adil Irshad has been reassigned to the office of ZEO Drabshalla during the suspension period.

These actions reflect the district administration’s commitment to enforcing the MCC and ensuring a fair and impartial election process.
