No Trade With Spain says, US President Donald Trump, After Spain Restricted Military Bases
WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the United States will cut off all trade with Spain after Barcelona blocked the use of Spanish military bases for U.S. operations against Iran, Anadolu reported.
“We’re going to cut off all trade with Spain. We don’t want anything to do with Spain,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office while hosting German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The comments came after the Spanish government clarified Monday that the U.S. has neither used nor will it use Spanish military bases for attacks on Iran. Madrid stressed that it retains full control over its sovereign facilities and that any U.S. operations would require explicit Spanish authorization.

The dispute highlights growing tensions between Washington and European allies amid the ongoing Israel-U.S. military campaign against Iran. Analysts say restrictions on foreign bases could complicate logistics for U.S. operations and strain international relations at a critical moment in the Middle East conflict.
