Two Non-Local Laborers Injured in Terror Attack in Budgam, Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Two non-local labourers working on the Jal Jeevan Project in the Mazahama area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district were shot and injured by suspected militants, officials said on Friday. The incident took place this evening.
Official sources said that the two non-local labourers were working at the Mazhama graveyard on the banks of Nallah Sukhnag when they were fired upon by suspected terrorists. “One labourer sustained a bullet injury to his arm, and another was hit in the leg. Both are stable,” a police official said. “Both are out of danger, and the area has been cordoned off.”
The officials further said that a manhunt has been launched to track down the attackers. Sources reported that both injured workers have been transferred from SDH Magam to SKIMS Bemina. This marks the third significant attack by terrorists recently, following an incident on October 23 in Gagangeer, Ganderbal, where a local doctor and six labourers were killed.
That attack was followed by another in the Gulmarg area of Baramulla, where two army porters and three soldiers were killed last week. (KNO)
