Srinagar Tulip Garden Sees Record Rush, Over 2.25 Lakh Visitors So Far
Srinagar, Apr 4 — The iconic Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden has witnessed an unprecedented surge in visitors this season, with footfall crossing 2.25 lakh, officials said.
Director of Floriculture Kashmir Mathoora Masoom noted that the turnout has been steadily rising, touching nearly 22,000 visitors a day during weekends and holidays.
She attributed the strong response to favourable weather conditions and coordinated administrative efforts, which helped maintain a vibrant bloom. The garden currently features around 70 to 75 varieties of tulips and is expected to surpass previous visitor records this year.
The nearby Badamwari Garden has also seen a sharp increase in footfall. According to officials, visitor numbers there jumped from around 18,000 last year to 43,000 this March, marking a 139 percent rise.

With the bloom expected to peak in the coming days, authorities believe the numbers will rise further, reinforcing Jammu and Kashmir’s growing appeal as a major tourism destination.
