In a significant operation, security forces engaged in an exchange of fire with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district, resulting in the elimination of two Naxals. The successful operation also led to the recovery of arms and ammunition, bolstering efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
Security Forces’ Decisive Action
The District Reserve Guards (DRG) were at the forefront of this operation, which took place in the Gome Jungle of Koylibeda police station limits. The operation was initiated at 8:00 am, and it culminated in the recovery of two male Naxal bodies. These Naxals were armed with an INSAS rifle, a 12-bore rifle, and other arms and ammunition.
Efforts to Ensure Peace and Stability
P Sunderraj, Inspector-General of Bastar, emphasized the operation’s significance, attributing the success to an escalation of force (EoF). Such operations play a crucial role in countering Naxal insurgency and ensuring the safety and security of the region’s inhabitants.
