The Meteorological Department’s forecast of snowfall in the high reaches of Jammu and Kashmir prompted the police to emphasize the need for caution. Travelers were advised against venturing onto hilly roads and NH-44 without confirmation from Traffic Control Units (TCUs).

The traffic plan and advisory for March 3, 2024, highlighted the ongoing blockage of key roads, including the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, SSG Road, Mughal Road, Bhaderwah-Chamba Road, and Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244. The suspension of traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, particularly in Udhampur, was a consequence of shooting stones and landslides triggered by overnight rainfall in the Ramnagar Sector. The closure of Jammu Srinagar NHW due to a damaged road at Panthyl further contributed to the challenges faced by commuters.
