DODA, AUGUST 20: The District Election Office in Doda has commenced a rigorous three-day training program for polling staff as part of the preparations for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024.
On the first day of the training, sessions were held at various venues, including Town Hall Doda, Community Hall Doda, Community Hall Bhaderwah, and Degree College Kilhotran (Bhallessa).
Approximately 400 polling staff members participated in today’s sessions, which were designed to ensure a smooth, secure, and efficient election process.
Harvinder Singh, the District Election Officer (DEO) of Doda, addressed the gathering, underscoring the critical importance of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) security.
He issued strict instructions that no polling station should be left unattended, emphasizing the need for constant vigilance in safeguarding the EVMs.
The DEO also addressed various challenges that might arise during the election process, urging the polling staff to be well-prepared and vigilant.
Master trainers provided detailed instructions to the participants on managing polling stations, addressing voter concerns, and ensuring the timely submission of election results. They also emphasized maintaining order within polling stations to facilitate a smooth voting experience for all.
The training session was attended by key officials, including Returning Officers (ROs) and Chief Planning Officer Doda, Manesh Kumar Manhas, alongside other master trainers.
Together, they engaged in a comprehensive discussion on election protocols and the roles and responsibilities of the polling staff, aiming to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct the elections successfully.
