Tragedy Strikes as Nine Lose Their Lives in Firecracker Unit Blaze in Tamilnadu
A devastating incident occurred in Ariyalur district, where a fire engulfed a firecracker manufacturing unit, resulting in the tragic loss of at least nine lives. The incident unfolded on Monday, leaving the community in shock and mourning the lives lost in the unfortunate blaze.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Extends Support
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin responded swiftly to the tragedy, expressing his condolences for the nine lives lost in the blaze. In a statement, he announced financial assistance for the families affected by this heartbreaking incident. Chief Minister Stalin pledged a compensation of Rs. 3 lakhs to the families of each of the deceased victims, acknowledging the immense loss they have suffered. Additionally, he offered Rs. 1 lakh to those who sustained injuries in the incident.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The fire broke out at a private firecracker unit located in Viragalur village within Ariyalur district. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire to determine the circumstances that led to this devastating incident. As a result of the blaze, five individuals sustained injuries and were promptly admitted to the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital, where they are receiving specialized medical care and attention.
Government’s Commitment to Relief and Support
Chief Minister Stalin displayed a strong commitment to providing immediate relief and support to the affected families. He delegated cabinet ministers SS Sivasankar and CV Ganesan to oversee and expedite rescue and relief efforts. This swift response is aimed at not only addressing the immediate needs of the victims’ families but also ensuring that comprehensive support is provided to help them cope with this tragic loss.
