New Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court has directed the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) to expedite the pending results related to the alleged murder of a Swiss woman in October 2023. The court’s directive comes at the stage of framing charges, following the filing of a charge sheet by the Delhi police in January.

    Judicial Oversight and Legal Aid

Additional Sessions Judge Vijay Shankar has urged the FSL director to accelerate the process and provide the necessary reports by May 15. The court had previously issued notices to the FSL director and the SHO of Tilak Nagar police Station, emphasizing the importance of timely forensic analysis.

    Case Background and Investigation

The case involves the alleged murder of Swiss national Nina Berger, with Gurpreet Singh alias Mandeep Singh being arrested for the crime. The charge sheet filed by Delhi police includes sections related to murder, destruction of evidence, and possession of stolen property.

During interrogation, Singh confessed to meeting Berger through a social media platform several years ago. The accused reportedly lured her to India under false pretenses, where he allegedly committed the crime. Police recovered significant funds from Singh, suspected to be acquired through illicit means
