Third Flight under ‘Operation Ajay’ Brings 197 Indians Back from Israel
A third flight carrying 197 Indian nationals from Israel under ‘Operation Ajay’ landed at the national capital’s Delhi airport on Sunday. He lauded PM Modi’s dedication to the welfare of Indian citizens, emphasizing the safe repatriation of Indians from Israel. The flight had departed from Tel Aviv the previous day. The Indian Embassy in Israel took to Twitter to announce the departure of the third flight and wished all passengers a safe journey.
Emotional ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ Welcomes at Delhi Airport
The arrival of Indian nationals at Delhi airport was accompanied by emotional ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ chants, and Union Minister Kaushal Kishore was present to receive them. This heartwarming welcome at the airport highlighted the joy and relief felt by the evacuees after their safe return to India.
‘Operation Ajay’ Brings Back Stranded Indians
‘Operation Ajay’ was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to repatriate approximately 18,000 Indians from Israel. Registration of Indian nationals in Israel began on Thursday, and these rescue flights have been crucial in ensuring their safe return.
Escalating Conflict in Israel
The evacuation comes following more than a week of conflict in Israel, with over 1,300 Israelis killed, most of them civilians, and over 1,000 Palestinians killed due to retaliatory strikes. In response to the deteriorating situation, the Indian embassy in Israel has been providing support to Indian companies and has established a helpline for Indian citizens requiring assistance. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has also set up a 24-hour control room to monitor the situation and provide information and assistance.
Emotional Welcome and Gratitude
This is the third flight to bring Indian nationals back from Israel, and it follows the arrival of 235 evacuees in Delhi on a flight the previous day. The passengers expressed their gratitude to the Indian government for the initiative and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring their safe return. The emotional reception was marked by chants of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’
Assistance for Indian Nationals in Israel
Indian Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla, mentioned that the Indian Embassy in Israel is actively working to safeguard the well-being of Indian nationals in Israel. Under ‘Operation Ajay,’ the embassy is committed to helping Indians who wish to return to India amid the ongoing conflict.
