Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defence (MND) reported the detection of nine Chinese military aircraft and six naval vessels operating near Taiwan between Tuesday and Wednesday. Four of the aircraft breached Taiwan’s Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ), prompting a response from Taiwanese armed forces.
Taiwan’s Response
In response to the Chinese activities, Taiwan deployed CAP aircraft, naval vessels, and coastal missile systems to monitor and address the situation. The Ministry of National Defence emphasized its commitment to safeguarding Taiwan’s airspace and territorial integrity.
Amid escalating tensions, Taiwan’s Air Force Command conducted an integrated air defence exercise on Tuesday to enhance overall defence effectiveness. The exercise aimed to address the increasing intrusions by Chinese military aircraft and vessels into Taiwan’s airspace and nearby waters.
Maintaining Regional Security
Taiwan reiterated its dedication to regional security and defence operations, emphasizing the need to bolster training intensity to counter potential threats. These efforts underscore Taiwan’s commitment to safeguarding its airspace and protecting its sovereignty amidst growing geopolitical tensions.
