Supreme Court Quashes Defamation Complaint Against Tejashwi Yadav
The Supreme Court has quashed the defamation complaint against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav over his alleged “only Gujaratis can be thugs” remark. The bench granted relief after Tejashwi Yadav agreed to withdraw the statement. The court had earlier directed him to file a “proper statement” withdrawing the alleged remark. The complaint was filed in Ahmedabad over the remark made in March 2023. The court had stayed proceedings in the criminal defamation complaint and issued notice to the Gujarat resident who filed it.
