Subhman Gill’s Unique Training Session Ahead of India-England Clash
Focused Practice to Address Short Ball Weakness
Batsman Subhman Gill, a member of the Indian cricket team, engaged in a unique training session ahead of India’s clash with England. The team held an optional training session at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, where they will face England in their next match.
Gill, who was practicing in the nets, called over a staff member and brought out unique equipment, including a badminton racket and a tennis ball. He specifically focused on addressing his weakness against short-pitched deliveries, as he had been dismissed by a short ball in a previous match against New Zealand and aimed to avoid repeating the mistake.

In India’s previous game against New Zealand, the team won comfortably, with Rohit Sharma’s side putting New Zealand to bat first. The bowlers got off to a strong start, reducing New Zealand to 19/2 during the powerplay. However, a partnership of 159 runs between Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra helped New Zealand recover.
Despite this, India made a comeback in the later stages, bowling out New Zealand for 273 runs in 50 overs, with Mohammed Shami being the standout bowler, taking five wickets. In the chase, India successfully reached the target of 274 runs, with Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 95 and Ravindra Jadeja’s 39 guiding the team to a four-wicket win. With this victory, India currently stands at the top of the ODI World Cup 2023 standings with 10 points and a net run rate of +1.353.
