SSP Jammu Boosts Border Vigilance with Local Community Engagements

Jammu, 23 July 2024. SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS conducted a series of pivotal meetings today with local residents and weapon license holders from the Gajansoo, Kirpalpur, and Sandwan areas in the Domana Sub-Division.
These meetings aimed to bolster community awareness and enhance their involvement in maintaining regional security against ongoing threats.
Presiding over the sessions, Dr. Vinod Kumar was joined by SP Rural Sh. Brijesh Sharma-JKPS, SDPO Domana Sh. Mudasser Hussain-JKPS, SHO Kanachak, SHO Domana, ICPP Pounichak, ICBPP Sandwan, ICBPP Gajansoo, ICBPP Kirpalpur, and other officials.
The meetings witnessed active participation from residents of border villages, who were given comprehensive briefings on the current security scenario and the continuous terrorist threats in the Jammu zone.
SSP Jammu emphasized the importance of community vigilance and urged locals to immediately report any suspicious individuals or activities to the police. This proactive approach, he noted, is crucial in preventing potential security incidents.
Dr. Vinod Kumar also highlighted the necessity of monitoring the activities of outsiders visiting border areas daily for pheri purposes and keeping an eye on vehicle movements, especially those carrying milk and vegetables to the city in the early morning hours.
The SSP stressed that any unusual or suspicious activities involving unknown persons should be promptly reported to the nearest police station or police post. This vigilant approach, he reiterated, is vital to averting any adverse incidents and ensuring the safety and security of the region.
By fostering strong community-police collaboration, SSP Jammu aims to strengthen border vigilance and enhance the overall security framework in the Domana Sub-Division.
