Spain’s President Pedro Sanchez Tests Positive for COVID-19, Misses G20 Summit.
In an unexpected turn of events, Spain’s President Pedro Sanchez has announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19, leading to his inability to attend the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India. President Sanchez’s Positive Test and Delegation Arrangements.
President Sanchez shared the news of his positive COVID-19 test on X (formerly Twitter) and reassured the public that he was feeling “fine.” Despite his unfortunate diagnosis, he expressed confidence in Spain’s representation at the G20 Summit. The responsibility of representing Spain at this crucial international gathering now falls on the capable shoulders of First Vice President Nadia Calvino Santamaria and Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares.
This afternoon I have tested positive for COVID and will not be able to travel to New Delhi for the G20 Summit. I feel fine. Spain will be magnificently represented by the First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation,” President Sanchez wrote.
