Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 — Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship mobile platform — is expected to launch at the end of September this year. Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that Qualcomm would announce the launch of the chip around that time. Earlier reports suggested the chip could arrive in September, a month earlier than its predecessor.

What Would Be Special in the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Platform?

The platform is expected to significantly improve upon the current flagship chip. If that happens, Android devices could finally compete head-to-head with Apple phones. Rumors in the market suggest that Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro might be the first in history to feature this chipset.

The leak also hinted that the platform would likely support LPDDR5x as well as the upcoming LPDDR6 RAM.

It was also claimed that the platform will feature a base frequency of 4.4GHz. Previously, the earlier model had a base frequency of 4.32GHz, and this new version is expected to improve performance by up to 25% compared to its predecessor.
