The district administration in Lucknow has announced the closure of all schools on Monday due to heavy rainfall and lightning.
The decision was made in response to the inclement weather conditions and alerts from the Meteorological Department.
The heavy rain in Lucknow began on Sunday and is expected to continue on Monday, according to weather forecasts.
In Delhi, several areas, including Safdarjung, Palam airport, Rajghat, Vasant Kunj, Munirka, Narela, and others, experienced light to moderate rain on Saturday night, continuing into Sunday morning.
As the monsoon season persists, residents in affected areas are advised to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines to stay safe in adverse weather conditions.
India experienced one of the driest Augusts since 1901, with monsoon deficiency in many regions.
However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the monsoon is expected to be normal across the country in September.
The IMD also noted that most parts of the country will have above-normal maximum temperatures, while some areas in South Peninsular India and pockets of West-Central India may have normal to below-normal maximum temperatures.
