On Monday, the Supreme Court is expected to announce its decision on the constitutional validity of the Centre’s revocation of Article 370. In Jammu and Kashmir, there is a spectrum of sentiments regarding the potential restoration of this provision. Local authorities claim to have implemented sufficient security measures, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining peace.
Ravinder Raina, the Jammu and Kashmir President of the BJP, expressed confidence that the Supreme Court’s verdict would depoliticize the issue. He emphasized the importance of respecting the judiciary, stating, “We are all citizens of this democratic country, and everyone should respect and accept whatever decision the honorable Supreme Court takes.”The BJP calls for universal respect for the Supreme Court ruling, emphasizing the need to avoid political exploitation. National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah assured that his party would maintain peace regardless of the verdict.
