
Doda, September 11: The Red Cross Committee of Government Degree College Doda, under the patronage of Principal GDC Doda, Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, organized a one-day awareness cum training program on First Aid on September 8, 2023. The event was conducted with the assistance of trainers and experts from the Health Department, including Dr. Hamid Parray, Dr. Javed Ahmed Parray, and Dr. Nasir Masood Indrabi.
Welcoming Address
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Satish Kumar, Convener of the Red Cross Committee GDC Doda. He extended a warm welcome to the principal, guests, and the audience in attendance.
Training and Demos
During the program, experts provided detailed information on various emergency responses. They conducted practical demonstrations on critical topics such as Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), management of head injuries, fractures, and other trauma-related scenarios. The experts also actively engaged with the audience, addressing their queries and concerns.
Principal’s Remarks
Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, the principal, praised the Red Cross Committee for organizing the informative program. He commended the trainers for their valuable insights and stressed the importance of students learning about First Aid, which can be life-saving in critical situations and accidents.
Active Participation
Approximately 250 students attended the program, making it a successful and well-attended event. Several faculty members, including Prof. K. K Manhas, Dr. Jamsheed Ahmed, and many others, joined in to support the initiative.
Program Coordination
The entire program was skillfully coordinated by Assistant Prof. Imteyaz Ahmed from the Department of Zoology at GDC Doda.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Neelam Saba, Assistant Prof. in the Department of Zoology at GDC Doda. The program served as a valuable opportunity for students and faculty to acquire essential knowledge and skills in First Aid.
