Ravinder Raina, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu & Kashmir, expressed appreciation for the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the abrogation of Article 370, calling it a historic verdict that has paved the way for significant changes in the region.
Raina highlighted the long-standing consequences faced by various communities in the state, including Tribals, Gujjars, Bakkerwals, Gaddi-Sippi, OBCs, West Pakistan Refugees, and individuals from Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir, who were previously deprived of their rights due to Article 370’s application in the region.
He emphasized the positive impact of the decision, emphasizing that various marginalized sections of society have now received their due rights, contributing to the comprehensive development of Jammu & Kashmir.
Furthermore, Raina underscored the unanimous benefits accruing from this decision to all religions, regions, and communities, praising the inclusive nature of the judgment. He commended the ongoing development initiatives and welfare schemes that are benefiting the populace directly and fostering progress in the area.
Expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court, Raina also acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in ensuring fundamental rights for all residents of Jammu & Kashmir.
He urged for a unified approach towards the state’s future, emphasizing the need to prioritize development and peace over political discord surrounding Article 370.
Additionally, Sunil Sethi, the chief spokesperson for J&K BJP, stressed the non-partisan nature of the Supreme Court’s decision, citing it as a testament to the nation’s unified aspirations for the complete integration of Jammu & Kashmir.
Sethi emphasized that the judgment holds significance in upholding the Constitution and national unity, transcending individual political or communal interests.
Addressing media representatives alongside Sethi, Raina, and other BJP officials, the leaders advocated for collective efforts by all political parties to promote peace, prosperity, and harmony in Jammu & Kashmir, steering clear of divisive politics and fostering a conducive environment for the region’s progress.
