A recent study by Casino Encyclopedia  has ranked the most viewed Champions League goals by their view count from various online video sharing and social media platforms. Compiled in May 2024, the data ranks the most iconic goals from the most to the least viewed.

Holding the top spot as the most-viewed Champions League goal, Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2018 famous bicycle kick against Juventus has 43.5M views across various online platforms. This remarkable viewership is attributed to Ronaldo’s exceptional skill which led him receiving a standing ovation from the Juventus fans.

The second place is held by Neymar’s critical goal for Barcelona against PSG in 2017 with 18.7M. This goal gathered the majority of its viewership as it was key to Barcelona overcoming a 4-0 deficit and this match reportedly influenced PSG’s decision to acquire him later that year.

Third place with 14.44M views is Lionel Messi’s solo goal against Real Madrid in the 2011 Champions League semifinal. This goal is renowned for Messi’s breaking through several defenders during a critical match which significantly contributed  to its high viewership, marking it as one of the most memorable goals.

Fourth most popular goal  is Zinedine Zidane’s volley in the 2002 final against Leverkusen with 13.44M views. This goal, often cited as one of the greatest in football history, gains its enduring popularity and high viewership from the perfect combination of critical timing and flawless execution of legendary Zizou.

Fifth place is secured by Lucas Moura’s last-second goal for Tottenham against Ajax in 2019 with 12.2M views. The goal’s dramatic timing and scoring in the last moments of a semifinal to complete a hat-trick explains its immense popularity. 

Ranked sixth Gareth Bale’s bicycle kick for Real Madrid in the 2018 final against Liverpool gathers 8.4M views. His stunning goal, scored just minutes after coming off the bench, played a big part in its high viewership.

Ranked seventh with 7.8M views, Sergio Ramos’s header in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid is famed for its last-minute impact.
