Rajasthan Minister Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary announced plans to introduce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill in the state’s current or next assembly session, following Uttarakhand’s lead.
He praised Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami for initiating the bill, aiming to establish uniform civil laws irrespective of religion.
The UCC Bill, proposed by Dhami, covers marriage, divorce, succession, and live-in relationships, among other matters.
Choudhary stated that discussions on the UCC would happen in the current session, and if time is insufficient, it would be brought up in the next one.
