Rajasthan New CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Takes Charge of Key Portfolios; Cabinet Allocation Details Revealed
Rajasthan’s freshly appointed Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, has assumed responsibility for eight significant portfolios, including Home, as the state government unveiled the division of duties within the new BJP-led administration. The majority of the leaders now holding ministerial positions are serving for the first time under the present government. The allocation of portfolios was declared after 15 days of the formation of the new BJP government, succeeding the ousting of the Congress. Speculations suggest that the BJP meticulously scrutinized the list of responsibilities, resulting in the delayed but anticipated announcement.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, hailing from the former royal family of Jaipur, has been entrusted with the Finance, Tourism, and Public Works Department (PWD) portfolios. Representing the Vidhyadhar Nagar constituency, Kumari, during the elections, rallied against the “corrupt” Congress government, expressing confidence in the public’s support for her party. Her campaign resonated as the “daughter of Jaipur” and the “princess among the people” due to her lineage as the granddaughter of Man Singh II, the last ruling maharaja of Jaipur.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa has been assigned six portfolios, including Education, Transport, and Ayurveda.
MLA Rajyavardhan Rathore, representing Jhotwara, has been appointed as the Industries Minister. Commenting on the responsibilities, Rathore emphasized the collective duty of officers, employees, and officials to serve Rajasthan’s populace, highlighting the importance of fulfilling duties as per the Constitution.
Additionally, Gajendra Singh Khimsar has taken the mantle as the Health Minister, while MLA Madan Dilawar from Kota, closely associated with the RSS, will oversee the Education portfolio.
