Amritsar’s Commissioner of Police, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, disclosed the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of 3 kg heroin and Rs 9 lakh cash in a drug smuggling operation. The detainees are Vikramjeet Singh (alias Vicky) from Lohgarh, Rashpal Singh from Hoshiar Nagar village, Gourav (alias Kali) from Varyam Singh Colony, and Sahil Kumar (alias Manthan) from Durgiana Abadi, all located in Amritsar.

The police action unfolded following credible intelligence, leading to a special check by law enforcement teams near Gol Bagh, behind the Railway Station in Amritsar. The authorities intercepted the four accused individuals in their Innova car while en route to deliver the heroin consignment.Commissioner Bhullar informed that Rashpal Singh, one of the arrestees, was already facing charges related to theft and NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act in Amritsar Rural and Tarn Taran.

Efforts are underway to unravel the network of suppliers, dealers, and customers involved in the illicit drug trade. Investigations aim to ascertain the complete scope of narcotics traded by the detained individuals.

An FIR has been lodged under sections 21-C, 27-A, and 29 of the NDPS Act at the D Division Police Station in Amritsar. Further inquiries are ongoing to trace both the suppliers and buyers associated with this illegal operation.
