Promotion Controversy Addressed by CAT in Jammu
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Jammu resolves the promotion controversy for teachers aspiring for the position of Master in District Cadre Rajouri. The tribunal’s order emphasizes a fair consideration based on rules and merit, directing the School Education Department to complete the process within four weeks from the certified order.
Controversial Promotion List Challenge
The controversy arose after the Directorate of School Education Department issued a promotion list based on a seniority list. The applicants, represented by Advocate Amullaya Gupta, challenged the promotion list’s fairness, leading to the CAT’s intervention.
CAT’s Crucial Consideration Order
In response to the applicants’ concerns, Hon’ble Sanjeev Gupta, Judicial Member of CAT, issued an order emphasizing a rule-based and merit-driven approach. The directive instructs the School Education Department to thoroughly consider the case, ensuring a fair process for the promotion of teachers to the Master position in District Cadre Rajouri.
This intervention by the CAT aims to address grievances and uphold the principles of fairness and transparency in the promotion process, providing clarity and guidance for the concerned teachers and the education department.
