Presiding Officers and Polling Staff Receive Election Training in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, 28-08-2024 – The first round of training for Presiding Officers (POs) and Polling Officers commenced today in District Kishtwar, as part of the preparations for the upcoming Assembly Election 2024.
This essential training was held under the overall supervision of District Election Officer, Shri Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), with the active involvement of Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) from the three Assembly Constituencies (ACs) in the district.
A total of 854 POs and Polling Officers participated in the training sessions, which were coordinated by the Nodal Officer for Training, Riyaz Ahmed Butt, along with District Level Master Trainers. The training aimed to equip the polling staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the election process.
During the sessions, the officers were encouraged to thoroughly understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations governing the election process. The emphasis was placed on performing their duties with the utmost dedication, zeal, and integrity.
In addition to this, the training highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation and support among polling staff to ensure the seamless execution of their responsibilities.
Special attention was given to the handling of Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The Master Trainers also provided detailed instructions on various election-related activities, including the proper management of essential documents.
The training underscored the need for the staff to follow all guidelines diligently and maintain strict adherence to timeliness throughout the election process.
