Kishtwar, 10-09-2024 – Postal ballot voting for voters in District Kishtwar who are engaged in election duty commenced today, following strict guidelines from the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The process, meticulously organized by District Election Officer Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), was closely monitored by key officials, including Deputy District Election Officer Idrees Lone, ADC Pawan Kotwal (JKAS), and SDM Dr. Amit Kumar (JKAS).
The first day of voting witnessed a significant turnout across three constituencies in the district. In the 50-Paddar Nagseni Assembly Constituency, 442 out of 794 eligible voters cast their ballots.
Meanwhile, in the 49-Kishtwar Assembly Constituency, 878 out of 1,809 eligible voters exercised their right to vote. The 48-Inderwal Assembly Constituency saw 621 out of 989 eligible voters participating in the election.
The entire postal ballot process was conducted with strict security protocols to ensure a smooth and safe voting experience.
Three facilitation centers were set up for employee voters in all three constituencies, ensuring the election process was convenient and accessible.
Postal ballot voting will continue tomorrow, 11th September, for both civil and police personnel involved in election duties.
The district election officials are committed to maintaining fairness, efficiency, and transparency in the election process by adhering to the Election Commission’s guidelines.
The smooth conduct of the postal ballot voting process reflects the district’s dedication to upholding the democratic rights of its citizens.
