A Shocking Discovery
In a shocking turn of events, the Pauri police executed a raid at Neeraj Forest Resort located in the serene Laxman Jhula area. This clandestine operation targeted a gambling den that had 27 high-profile white-collar gamblers, a police constable, and four cheer crew girls in its grasp.
Resort Operators in Disarray
The repercussions of this raid are being felt not only by the arrested individuals but also by other resort operators in the region. Neeraj Forest Resort is situated in the same district area as Vantara Resort, the site of a gruesome murder of receptionist Ankita Bhandari just last year. This has stirred unease among the local resort owners and law enforcement.

A Constable’s Involvement
One of the startling revelations during the raid was the arrest of a police constable named Vineet, who was actively participating in the gambling activities. Vineet, hailing from Rishikesh, now faces legal consequences, and departmental action against him is being strongly recommended by the concerned police officers.
Luxury Cars Seized
As the raid unfolded, law enforcement discovered around 12 luxury cars parked at the scene of the gambling den. These vehicles have been seized as part of the investigation, further deepening the intrigue surrounding this operation. Circle officer Ravindra Kumar Chamoli confirmed this development.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Shweta Choubey, emphasized that an exhaustive investigation into the resort is underway, with the possibility of uncovering other illicit activities beyond gambling. During the raid, authorities also found five women in the basement of a wellness center located at the rear of the resort, posing as dancers.
In total, the police have taken 32 individuals into custody, all of whom are being detained under Section 3/4 of the Gambling Act. The revelation of this hidden gambling den at Neeraj Forest Resort serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in combating illegal activities in the region.
