PM Modi Bridges Gap Between Northeast and Delhi, Highlights Mizoram’s Tourism Potential
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people of Mizoram through a video conference and emphasized that the BJP-led NDA government has “bridged the gap” between northeastern states and Delhi by addressing their needs and aspirations.
Recognizing the Distance
PM Modi acknowledged the physical and psychological distance that existed between northeastern states like Mizoram and Delhi before 2014. He emphasized that after coming into power in 2014, the NDA government prioritized bridging this gap by addressing the needs and aspirations of the northeastern states.
Mizoram’s Potential as a Global Tourist Hub
PM Modi recognized Mizoram’s potential as a global tourist hub, given its natural beauty and rich culture. He highlighted that improving infrastructure in the state would boost trade, talent, and tourism, ultimately leading to greater investment, industries, income, and opportunities.
Revolution in Multiple Sectors
PM Modi referred to the transformation brought about by the BJP-led government’s work in Mizoram. He particularly noted improvements in transportation and infrastructure. The total length of National Highways in the Northeast increased from 11,000 km in 2013-14 to 16,000 km in 2023-23.
Mizoram Assembly Elections
Mizoram is one of the five states undergoing assembly elections. Voting in Mizoram took place on November 7, and the counting of votes is scheduled for December 3. Home voting and postal ballots have been utilized in the election process.
