    Paraguay has officially become the 100th full member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA). The country handed over its Instrument of Ratification in a meeting between Paraguayan Ambassador to India Fleming Raul Duarte and the Head of Depository, Joint Secretary (ED and MER), Ministry of External Affairs, Abhishek Singh, in New Delhi.

    The ISA is a collaborative platform aimed at promoting the deployment of solar energy technologies to enhance energy access, ensure energy security, and drive energy transitions in member countries. Launched jointly by India and France during COP21 in Paris, the ISA seeks to support the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement through widespread solar energy deployment.

    As of now, 119 countries have signed the ISA Framework Agreement, with 100 countries, including Paraguay, having submitted the necessary Instrument of Ratification to become full members. Spain became the 99th member in May 2024.
