Nighttime Aggression
Two Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers and a woman were injured as Pakistani Rangers initiated heavy firing and shelling along the International Border in Arnia and Suchetgarh sectors. The BSF personnel retaliated effectively, protecting their posts and civilians in the region. The incident began at approximately 2000 hours, and the BSF promptly responded to the unprovoked aggression.
Terrifying Escalation
Locals witnessed the Pakistani Rangers’ aggressive stance as they initially targeted forward villages in Arnia sector and later expanded their firing to include three villages in Suchetgarh. This escalation in violence included the firing of mortar shells, endangering the lives of civilians residing near the border.

Injuries and Evacuations
Amid the heavy exchange of fire, two BSF jawans were wounded in the Arnia sector, identified as Basavraj SR and Sher Singh. Additionally, a civilian woman, Rajni Bala, was injured. All the injured individuals were promptly evacuated to the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
Frightening Memories Resurface
The recent round of firing and shelling follows a similar incident on October 17 in the Arnia sector. In the past, there have been more than a dozen ceasefire violations between India and Pakistan, despite both nations agreeing on a strict ceasefire observance on February 25, 2021.
Today’s firing and shelling have rekindled the fear among the border residents, bringing back memories of past tragedies when civilians were killed, injured, and livestock perished due to heavy shelling and firing by the Rangers. The Indian retaliation in those instances resulted in significant losses for the Pakistani Rangers.
