One Laborer Fatally Injured, Another Hurt in Wall Collapse in UP, According to Police
In a devastating construction accident, a 54-year-old laborer lost his life, while another was seriously injured when a wall collapsed on them. The incident occurred in Veepur Takia village, located within the Garhwar police station area. The tragic event unfolded on a fateful Saturday afternoon during their construction work.
Construction Mishap in Veepur Takia Village
The two laborers, Heera Rajbhar, aged 54, and Pramod, aged 42, were engaged in constructing a shed when an adjacent wall suddenly collapsed, burying them under its weight. The impact of the collapsing wall caused serious injuries to both workers, leading to immediate concern and action from local residents.
Desperate Rush to Hospital
Swiftly responding to the emergency, local residents rushed the injured laborers to the district hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, the doctors at the hospital, after their assessment, declared Heera Rajbhar deceased due to the severity of his injuries. The loss of a valuable life cast a pall of sorrow over the community.
Investigation Underway
Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Shukla, overseeing the incident, stated that the deceased’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities will seek to determine the circumstances surrounding the wall’s collapse and assess any possible negligence or safety violations that may have contributed to this tragic accident.
This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular inspections at construction sites to prevent such heartbreaking accidents in the future.
