London, UK and New York, USA — QuantumLight, a quantitative venture capital and growth equity firm, has released a performance playbook co-authored by Nik Storonsky, the founder of Revolut.

Titled “Driving High Performance: A Founder’s Guide to Cultivating Top Talent at Scale,” the guide offers a data-driven approach to performance management for tech startups.

Storonsky shared that the playbook condenses years of lessons learned during Revolut’s rise to becoming a $45bn superapp. It aims to help founders implement clear performance expectations, reduce bias, and create career paths.

It also suggests establishing a task force for performance management, separate from HR and recruitment, to drive results. Exponential bonuses for top performers are recommended as a key incentive for nurturing talent.

Revolut’s new platform, Revolut People, provides an out-of-the-box solution to put these performance strategies into practice. QuantumLight’s methodology mirrors its investment strategy, where data models and billions of data points guide precise decision-making.

Startups like Ghost and Ben have already implemented practices from the playbook, with Ghost co-founder Josh Kaplan crediting it for improving employee performance tracking.

Ben’s founder, Sebastian Fallert, echoed similar success in creating performance incentives that attract top talent.

QuantumLight’s playbook is a valuable resource for tech founders, offering a scientific approach to building high-performance teams. It has already inspired more than 100 startups led by Revolut alumni, collectively raising over $2.2bn.

The guide is now available for immediate implementation, providing essential insights to elevate performance across the tech ecosystem.
