Nigerian Nationals Apprehended in Mumbai with Drugs Worth Rs 9 Crore
The Mumbai police reported the arrest of two Nigerian nationals in Saki Naka, a western suburb, seizing drugs valued at Rs 9 crore on Saturday. The individuals were apprehended near Hansa Industrial Estate along Saki Vihar Road, where authorities confiscated 880 grams of cocaine from the accused, equivalent to the aforementioned market value.
According to the Sakinaka Police, the operation transpired following confidential intelligence. Surveillance was maintained at Hansa Industrial Estate based on this information, leading to the interception of the suspects. Upon their arrival, a police search yielded the discovery of 88 substantial capsules in their possession, promptly seized by law enforcement. The estimated value of the recovered contraband in the international market amounts to Rs 9 crore.
The Sakinaka Police are currently conducting an interrogation of the arrested individuals to ascertain the intended recipients of the confiscated drugs. Additionally, the police stated their registration of a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS) Act in connection with the incident.
Efforts by the authorities in Mumbai, especially the Sakinaka Police, aim to probe further into the case to determine the individuals or entities targeted for drug supply by the arrested suspects.
