NIA Raids Uncover Pakistan-Backed Gazwa-e-Hind Module Operations Across Four States
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted coordinated raids across four states in India as part of its investigation into the Gazwa-e-Hind module, a case with suspected links to Pakistan. The searches took place in Dewas (Madhya Pradesh), Gir Somnath (Gujarat), Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh), and Kozhikode (Kerala). The agency’s actions are part of a wider crackdown on this radical, anti-India network, believed to be propagating the idea of Gazwa-e-Hind with support from Pakistan-based handlers.
Seizure of Incriminating Materials and Digital Evidence
During the raids, the NIA seized various incriminating documents and digital devices, including mobile phones and SIM cards. The operation aimed to gather more evidence about the activities and networks of the suspects, who were allegedly in contact with their handlers in Pakistan and were involved in spreading radical ideologies.
Background of Gazwa-e-Hind Case and Ongoing Investigation
The Gazwa-e-Hind case traces back to July 14 last year, when it was first registered by the Phulwarisharif Police in Patna, Bihar, following the arrest of Marghoob Ahmad Danish, also known as Tahir. He was the administrator of a WhatsApp group named ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’, created by a Pakistani national identified as Zain. This group, which was also active on other social media platforms like Telegram and BiP Messenger, included members from various countries and was focused on radicalizing youth and establishing Gazwa-e-Hind over Indian territory. The NIA has been investigating this case since July 22 last year and has already filed a chargesheet against Marghoob Ahmad Danish under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
