On Monday morning, the upper regions of the Kashmir Valley witnessed a fresh bout of snowfall, whereas the plains received substantial rainfall, causing a notable decrease in the maximum temperature.

According to an official report, the higher elevations of the Valley, such as Razdan Pass, Zojjila Pass, Sinthan Top, and Kishtwar, encountered snowfall, while the low-lying areas experienced heavy rains. The persistent rain throughout the night and the snowfall on Razdan, Zojjila, Sinthan Tops, and their vicinity compelled authorities to shut down several roads.

Simultaneously, rainfall affected other parts of the Kashmir Valley, leading to a significant drop in the maximum temperature. The Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent rain and snowfall in the higher regions and scattered areas of Jammu and Kashmir over the next few days.

Furthermore, due to fresh snowfall, the Mughal road, which connects Kashmir Valley’s Shopian district with the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, had to be closed. This closure was a result of the snowfall near ‘Pir ki Gali,’ as confirmed by officials.
