Naxalite Camp Busted: Seizure of Explosives and Materials in Bijapur Forests
In a significant operation, authorities busted a Naxalite camp in the forests of Pedda Karma, Bijapur district, following an exchange of fire. The police reported the recovery of a substantial cache of explosive materials, medicines, Maoist literature, uniforms, and other items from the camp. Search operations in the adjoining areas are actively underway, led by the District Reserve Guards (DRG), Bastar Fighters, CRPF, and CoBRA units, as stated by the police.
This comes after a tragic incident in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, where Naxalites targeted the Aamdai Ghati iron ore mine. The attack, involving an improvised explosive device (IED) blast and firing, resulted in the loss of a Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) constable, Kamlesh Kumar. Another constable, Vinay Kumar, sustained minor injuries and received immediate medical attention.
Security forces promptly retaliated against the Naxalites during the attack at the iron ore mine in Narayanpur. In response to the Naxal assault, a joint effort involving the District Reserve Guards (DRG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and local police has initiated comprehensive search operations in the surrounding regions.
The incident underscores the persistent challenges faced by security forces combating Naxalite insurgencies in the region. The recent operations, while successfully dismantling a Naxalite camp, also serve as a grim reminder of the dangers and risks endured by personnel on the front lines in their efforts to maintain peace and security in affected areas.
