National Testing Agency Introduces CUET for Undergraduate Admissions

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has unveiled the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions to central universities and other participating institutes. The application deadline is set for March 26, 2024, with exams scheduled in hybrid mode (computer-based and pen-and-paper) for the 2024-25 session.

Key Dates and Multilingual Exam Approach

The exam cities will be disclosed on April 30, admit cards available in the second week of May, and results declared on June 30, 2024. CUET (UG) accommodates 13 languages and offers exams in 380 cities, including 26 outside India. The exam encompasses 61 subjects, including 33 language and 27 subject tests, with candidates able to select up to six subjects/languages.

Duration and Shifts for Exam Papers

The exam duration for most papers is 45 minutes, except for specific subjects with a 60-minute timeframe. The examination will be conducted on multiple days in two or three shifts, depending on candidate numbers and subject choices.
