Narcotics Smuggling Bid Foiled By Ramban Police; One Held

Cracking down heavily on narcotics smuggling, Ramban Police under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban Shri Kulbir Singh JKPS foiled a Narcotics smuggling bid in Ramban area under the Jurisdiction of Police Station Ramban and arrested one person with heroin like substance.

During the routine checking, Police party of Police Station Ramban signalled one pedestrians to stop.

On seeing Police party the pedestrians started acting suspiciously and tried to flee. But acting swiftly Police party tactfully overpowered him.

On questioning he disclosed his identity as Abdul Rashid @ Shidu son of Late Abdul Gani resident of Govindpura Maitra District Ramban.

During the process of checking Heroin(chitta) like substance weighing 07 grams was recovered from him.

In this connection a Case FIR No 65/2025 U/S 08/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Ramban and investigation set into motion. The contraband has been seized, and accused has been taken into custody.

Investigation of the case ongoing to probe backward and
forward linkages.
