Man Booked for Spreading Rumours on Social Media in Pulwama
In Rajpora, Pulwama district, a man has been accused of spreading false information by posting fake content on social media platforms. Sameer Ahmed Paray, residing in Kabikoot CB Nath, has been identified as the individual responsible for uploading misleading posts on his Facebook profile under the name ‘Babar Azam. Paray uploaded a photo depicting weapons and claimed that a new individual from Pulwama had joined militant activities, sparking unrest in the region.
Legal Action Taken
An FIR (First Information Report) under section 505(b) of the Indian Penal Code has been filed against Paray at the Rajpora police station. The investigation is underway to address the issue and ensure public safety. Authorities have warned the public against sharing false information on social media platforms. Strict measures will be taken against anyone found responsible for spreading malicious content online.
