Lok Sabha Phase 3: Bengal Leads with 63.11 Percent Voter Turnout
The third phase of the Lok Sabha elections saw a voter turnout of approximately 50.71% across 93 constituencies till 3 pm, according to Election Commission of India data. Notably, West Bengal recorded the highest turnout at 63.11%, while Maharashtra reported the lowest at 42.63%.
Various states participating in this phase witnessed significant voter engagement, with Assam recording 63.08%, Chhattisgarh 58.19%, and Goa 61.39%. In Gujarat, the turnout stood at 47.03%, while in Uttar Pradesh, it was 46.78%.
Leaders from different political parties urged citizens to exercise their voting rights, emphasizing the importance of participation in the democratic process. The phase featured over 1300 candidates, including around 120 women, vying for seats across the country.
