Kishtwar Police Declares 23 Militants as Proclaimed Offenders from Pakistan
In a strategic move to address security concerns, the Kishtwar Police has designated 23 militants based in Kishtwar, operating from Pakistan, as proclaimed offenders. This official declaration was made by the UAPA Special Court, Doda, a step aimed at intensifying efforts to combat security challenges within the district. The list now encompasses a total of 36 proclaimed offenders, which includes the 13 militants previously declared by the UAPA Special Court, Doda.
The success in this endeavor was attributed to the meticulous efforts of the Kishtwar Police, particularly the initiation of the process after gathering critical intelligence. This led to the lodging of FIR No. 90/2022 U/Sec. 120-B,121-A/IPC 13/18/39/UAPA of PS Chatroo. The investigation was led by CIO Kishtwar Dy SP Vishal Sharma, who meticulously presented all formalities before the Hon’ble UAPA special court Doda.
SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-JKPS underscored that following the declaration, a property attachment process would be initiated U/Sec 83/CrPC if the absconding militants fail to surrender within the stipulated timeframe.
The list of proclaimed offenders includes individuals identified as Manzoor Ahmed (Tahir Inqlabi), Ghulam Mohd, Nazir Ahmed (Shaheen), Shabir Ahmed (Juniad), Mohd Iqbal Reshi (Muzamil or Ansari), Mohd. Amin Bhat, Jamal Din Naik (Mudasir), Shabir Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed Raina (Showqat), Gulzar Ahmed (Javed), Ghulam Hussain Sheikh, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed Chopan, Mohd Shafi (Amjad), Ghulam Nabi Wani (Majid), Abdul Karim, Gulabu (son of Hasham Gujjer), Mushtwaq Ahmed, Mohd Irfan Kahandey, Mohd Rafiq Khandey, Farooq Ahmed Ganie, Mohd Haneef Sheikh, Shah Nawaz Kanth, Nayeem Ahmed, Mohd Iqbal, Shahnawaz, Javid Hussain Giri, Bashir Ahmed Mughal, Gazi-ud-Din, Sattar Din, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Mohd Rafiq Keen, Muzaffer Ahmed, and Azad Hussain.
ADGP Jammu Zone Anand Jain-IPS directed the early identification of immovable property of all terrorists for further attachment U/Sec 83/CrPC, underlining the continued efforts to curb militant activities in the region.
