Shaikh Hassan Khan, a 36-year-old Kerala government employee, is set to embark on an expedition to Mount Vinson in Antarctica early next month. So far, Khan has successfully climbed four peaks: Mount Everest in Asia, Mount Denali in North America, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, and Mount Elbrus in Europe. The completion of the Mount Vinson expedition, which is expected to take 15 days, will mark his fifth major achievement in this endeavor. He also plans to tackle Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest peak outside the Himalayas, and Ojes Del Salado in Chile, the world’s highest active volcano.
