Young Cricketer Dies After Collapsing During Bhallesa Chenab Premier League Match in Jammu Kashmir’s Doda

Doda, July 13, 2026 [VoM News]: In an unfortunate incident, a young cricketer lost his life after collapsing on the field during a local match in the Gandoh area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district.

As per details available with VoM News, a 23-year-old cricketer, identified as Suhail, who hailed from the Bhaderwah area of Doda, collapsed on the field during a Bhallesa Chenab Premier League match being played at Sports Stadium Thaloran.

As per footage from Seven Sports, the broadcaster of the cricket event, the player appeared uncomfortable after completing his second over and was seen going down on his knees.

Moments later, as he attempted to stand up, he again collapsed to his knees. Fellow players and officials immediately rushed to his aid and shifted him to the nearest hospital.

However, doctors declared him dead. Cardiac arrest is being suspected as the cause of death, though officials are yet to confirm the exact reason.

At the time of filing this report, the body had been shifted for a medico-legal examination, after which it would be handed over to the legal heirs.

The incident has created a wave of sadness across the district, with condolences pouring in from all sections of society.
