
Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Tells Ex PM Sheikh Hasina to Return ‘Tomorrow’, Says She Will Be Jailed on Arrival
Dhaka, July 13, 2026 [VoM News]: The concerns for Bangladesh Ex Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are growing more and more, day by day, as the Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Sheikh Hasina to return immediately, hinting of direct jail.
These remarks were made by Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam following the statement of Hasina that she would return and surrender before the tribunal by December.
Reacting sharply on this during media talk, Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam stated, “Whether you come in December or January is your decision, but we want you tomorrow.”

Aminul Islam stated if Hasina returns under the extradition treaty, she would not have the option of surrendering before the court.
He further added if she remains under the Indian government’s control, she can either be handed over to Bangladesh under the extradition treaty or be pushed back.
Last year, Bangladeshi International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) had sentenced Hasina to death in absentia in a case related to alleged crimes against humanity, alongwith other multiple cases following her removal from power during the 2024 mass uprising.
He gave a crystall clear warning to Sheikh Hasina to avoid creating further instability in the country and urged the public to believe in the judicial process.
