Kashmir Police Chief Conducts Comprehensive Security Review to Bolster Regional Stability
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vidhi Kumar Birdi, led a crucial security review meeting at the District Police Office in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting saw the participation of senior police officials including DIG CKR Sujit Kumar, SSP Srinagar Ashish Kumar Mishra, and other high-ranking officers. The agenda focused on evaluating the current security landscape in the district and identifying potential threats and challenges.
Emphasis on Coordination and Community Relations
During the meeting, IGP Birdi stressed the importance of a thorough assessment of security threats. He instructed officers to ensure prompt and effective response mechanisms to any security incidents. Emphasizing the need for seamless coordination among various law enforcement branches, he highlighted the role of positive community relations in enhancing the security apparatus. Birdi pointed out the need for building trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community, along with strengthening intelligence-sharing mechanisms.
Vigilance Against Anti-National Elements and Peace Maintenance
The IGP urged the officers to enhance security surveillance around vital establishments and locations and ensure the safety of vulnerable individuals. This move is aimed at countering the plans of terrorists in Srinagar city. He also called for strict surveillance over terrorist associates and stringent action against anti-national and anti-social elements, including troublemakers and rumor mongers. Birdi’s directive to the Zonal SsP was to maintain a close watch on disruptive elements and to be vigilant and proactive on the ground to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in Srinagar City.
